2010 Donors

In January 2010, MMMC Foundation received a generous $5,000 donation from the Kent & Polli Smith Foundation through the Hawai'i Community Foundation. Funds were used to purchase an i-STAT Handheld Blood Analyzer for Maui Memorial Medical Center's Obstetrics Department. "Our OB Department is grateful for this generous donation,” said Jana Malia Joyo-Bui, OB nurse manager. "Having this state-of-the-art equipment available will enable our physicians and staff to get time-sensitive, accurate test results at the patient's side rather than having to route tests through our hospital's laboratory. Ultimately, this will enhance the quality of care for our patients."
